Tattoo Tuesday – Tyler Wiechman

Please join me in welcoming Tyler Wiechman.

No, your eyes are do not deceive you.  It is the web slinger himself tattooed on Tyler’s arm.

Sing it with me:  Spider man, Spider man, Does whatever a spider can. Spins a web, any size, Catches thieves just like flies.  Look Out! Here come the Spiderman.

Ok, now that I got that out of my system, read on to learn what inspires Tyler’s ink.   Tyler makes his favorite action heroes look so cool.

5 Questions

1.  How old were you when you got your first tattoo?

2.  What made you want to get your first tattoo?

Religion–I’m no longer religious and actually the current sleeve is covering up my first tattoo

3.  How many tattoos do you have?

4.  What is your tattoo story?  If you have more then one tattoo, tell me about your first or your favorite?

I don’t have a specific tattoo story, but the story behind the current sleeve is my love of marvel comics and how I’ve been inspired as a fiction writer, by many of the characters throughout that universe.  Some of my other tattoos symbolize my love of music, the loss of friends, my love of writing, and other fun geeky things (like star wars!)

5.  Tattoos on a significant other, like or dislike? Why?

It depends on the girl (and the ink for that matter).  A good girl with some good ink is pretty awesome.  Poor artwork and sloppy coloring is just disappointing.

Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh comes up with the greatest Blogfests.  I am excited to participate in yet another one.  Genre Favorites Blogfest.

And a guilty pleasure genre from any of the three categories!

Click the badge to the right to visit other Blogfest participants.

A quick disclaimer to this blog post. I have been staring at this blank screen for hours trying to narrow down my favorite genres in each section.  It is so hard for someone who seems to like any and everything.  I like my diverse taste in entertainment.  I just want to make sure you realize and understand how difficult this was for me.  Feel my pain.  OK, we are ready to continue.

Movies: My favorite genre in movies is Science Fiction

Examples – Star Wars, Matrix, The Terminator,

Music:  My favorite genre in music is Hip Hop and R&B and any groups that touch on that genre in any way, shape or form.

Example – Jay Z, Beyonce, TI, Linkin Park

Books:  My favorite genre in books is Suspense/Mystery.  I include a lot of different types of books into the category.  You might not agree, but I don’t care. haha.

Examples – Stephen King, James Patterson, John Grisham, Dan Brown

Guilty Pleasure:  My favorite guilty pleasure in music is boy bands.  Old and new.

Examples – NSync, New Edition, 112, One Direction (newest obsessions)

I swear I am not a 12 year old girl, but I love this song, especially with the 50’s Grease soundtrack sample.

These are my favorite genres.  What are yours?

* I will try this schedule for the rest of May.  With JuNoWriMo starting next month, it is bound to change.  Bear with me, I am still new to the blogging/writing life.

At the Academy, we had a snake in the bathroom.  I am not messing with you.  We really had a snake in the bathroom.  A king cobra.  Really.  I’m not lying.  We had a kind cobra snake in the bathroom.  How’s that for a friendly work environment?

They are doing a lot of construction near our building.  All the little critters are looking for new homes and Mr. King Cobra thought the men’s bathroom at the Academy would be a perfect summer home.

But, I learned something this week.  How the Chinese get rid of snakes? According to my staff, there are several options:

  1. Drive the snake away by putting sulfur in the toilet and around the building.  Apparently, you can pick up sulfur at your local grocery store.
  2. Poison the snake by putting your normal household cleaning products in the toilet.  Again, apparently you can pick this up at your local grocery store.
  3. I am not sure what this does, but grab the snake by the tail and swing it around your head really fast.  This is from the military guy on our staff.   Apparently, this is how the Chinese military deal with their snake problems.

A couple days after the first and second snake sighting, one of our clients was leaving the Academy and saw the snake on the cart path behind the building.  Now, everyone has declared the snake gone. What? Apparently, they are assured that it is the same one.

Still not using the bathroom in this place.

Star Wars

Yesterday was “Star Wars Day”.  I have been a huge fan for years and never knew there was a “Star Wars Day”.  “May the 4th be with you!” Get it. How did I celebrate?  I watch Episode IV. I typically share any and all Star Wars references I see.  So, every day could be “Star Wars Day” in my world.
