About SAM

I am passionate about what I do.
I travel through life drawn towards things I am passionate about.
When I find a place, a book, a thing that sparks my passions, I have to tell the world about it.

Sydney Aaliyah Michelle is a Contemporary Romance writer, a voracious reader and movie fanatic who hails from Texas.
After surviving 5 1/2 years living in China, she had the courage to finally pursue her passion and become a writer.
Sydney has been blogging at sydneyaaliyah.com for four years, where she interviews people about their tattoos, discusses her favorite movie quotes, features romance books and journals about her writing and editing process.
An active tweeter, she is also a JuNoWriMo (4x) and NaNoWriMo (4x) winners who notes the sci-fi action flick “The Matrix” as the best representation of her life in the past. She is now awake and blessed to be doing what she loves.
She can recite the entire script for the 80’s teen comedy/drama “The Breakfast Club” and loves any and everything associated with the Avengers Movies, especially Tony Stark.
When it come to books, Sydney reads different genres, but some of her favorite writers are Stephen King, Alex J. Cavanaugh, Cora Carmack & Emily Bronte. Under the Dome, The Great Gatsby & Wuthering Heights are her favorite books.

  1. I’ve discovered your blog through the Wednesday Blog Hop and really enjoyed In a Room.
I look forward to seeing more stuff here. Your blog has inspired me to make changes to my own.

    1. Hi Heather. Thank you so much. In the Room is my attempt at writing scary stuff. Not my typical genre but it has been fun. I am so happy you saw somtething on my blog that inspired you. Coolest compliment. I am tweaking my site all the time. So keep at it.

  2. Sydney Aaliyah, every time I see your name I think of Sydney Australia, even your cover pic looks like the sails on the Sydney Opera House. I come from Melbourne (so I am glad to see it on your bucket list). Your story reminded me of winning a writing award (and it getting published in the school newsletter) when I was a kid too. I couldn’t understand what the fuss was about it was ‘just’ a story – I love it when things finally start to make sense – esp. when it takes decades 🙂

  3. Hi Sydney,
I really enjoyed your book; Saving Mika in Without Limits. Any chance you will write a continuation of the story?

  4. Hi Sydney
Thank you for sending me Part 2 Securing Mika. I truly enjoyed it as much as I did Saving Mika. I hope that this is the beginning of a series because I really want to read more about Conor’s brother and his co-workers!
