S – seven, seventeen, and seventy

I’m not sure why I am having such a hard time with S. S is a great letter and Another New Life is full of ‘S’ themes to talk about.

I could have written about the secrets in the book, but if I did that you wouldn’t need to read it.

I could share a sex scene, but the idea makes my cheek turn red and that takes some effort. I can write a pretty good sex scene, but I’d rather leave you to read it in the context of the book and in he privacy of your own Kindle/Nook/iPad. No need for gratuitous sex scenes on my blog. haha.

I could writer about siblings, but my main character is an only child and if I talk about other siblings in the book, then I would be revealing a secret and then I would have to delete the whole post and start all over again.

So, how is this for a random fact about Another New Life. I reference the number seven, seventeen & seventy more then any other numbers in the entire MS. Not sure the significants, my favorite number is 8.

R – Relationships

I mentioned before how Miranda’s roommate, Darcy is a hopeless romantic and is looking for love. She has a pretty idealistic attitude when it comes to this love thing.

Some of her relationship advice:

“Never date Arkansas boys, only date Texas men. Arkansas boys may have farming money and ranching money, but Texas men have oil money. Enough said.”

“I may be from a small town, but even I know better then to try and intellectualize love. Love is love. That’s it.”

“This is the first big social situation for the soon-to-be epic relationship that is Troy and Miranda. It wouldn’t hurt you to wear something with a little color in it.”

“Get it over with; come on, Randa, this is supposed to be fun.”

“I ‘ve dreamed of finding the perfect guy to sweep me off my feet since I can remember. And I know that makes me sound totally pathetic, but I don’t care. I want a boyfriend who loves and adores me. Someone who not only wants to hang out with me, but prefers it.” She stared off into the unknown. “I want someone who inspires me and who’s proud to be with me.”

I was going to share my MC’s greatest quotes, but I decided to help Paige Rion out and turn my Q post over to her. Check it out here. I get her back by taking her U post, next week.

But, I still have a few choice quotes from my male MC Troy Anderson to share with you.

Black Firefly – Shedding the Light on the Darkness of Publication

Jade and her connections in finding the right beta readers, editors, and cover artist made the production of my book relatively stress free. Even though she was on the other side of the world, she answered my questions in a timely manner and even when things didn’t go smooth, her support and quick action, eased my mind.

One of the reasons I picked her was, I needed guidance and support in the production of Another New Life, but I didn’t want to sacrifice uniqueness. I am 100% in control of the way my book looks, Black Firefly helped my make it a reality.

I choose Rachel Marks and Mark My Words Book Publicity because they choose me, too. Again, I wanted some support in marketing the release of Another New Life. I sent her my manuscript and she loved it and her team loved it. They were just as excited about it as I was and we worked together to a create a plan for my book release. O – Original Title – Return to Love

The original title of Another New Life was Return to Love. In fact, the original file and Pinterest boards still contain the original title. It got me thinking whether this was common or not. Apparently it is. Check out these famous books by their original title:

George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four –The Last Man in Europe (I guess it wasn’t specific enough.)

Ernest Hemingways’ The Sun Also Rises — Fiesta (Was it a book about Spain or China?)

Leo Tolstoy’s War & Peace — All’s Well That Ends Well (Mouthful.)

Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird — Atticus (I could see that.)

And, my favorite book The Great Gatsby — Gatsby, Among Ash-Heaps and Millionaires, Trimalchio, Trimalchio
in West Egg, On the Road to West Egg, Under the Red, White and Blue, Gold-Hatted Gatsby or The High-Bouncing Lover (I think they choose correctly. Gold-Hatted Gatsby, really?)
