Insecure Writer’s Support Group – Bliss

InsecureWritersSupportGroup

The awesome co-hosts for the March 5 posting of the IWSG are Tina Downey, Elsie, Elizabeth Seckman, and Julie Flanders!

Special shout out to my friend and yours, Alex J. Cavanaugh because IWSG wouldn’t not exist without him. Thank you, Captain!

I have been organizing, planning and practically nesting in anticipation of the birth of my debut novel (May 1st in case you want to mark it on your calendar). Every day, I am completing some new task that puts me one step closer and I have been in pre-publication bliss for a few days now, but . . .

I keep waiting for the ball to drop, for the s–t to hit the fan, for the bubble to bust. I want something bad to happen now while I still have time to fix it.

What were your biggest fears as you got closer to your due/publication date?

  1. Congratulations on getting so close!

I think it’s natural to feel that things are going to fall apart, that we’re going to be discovered as a fraud. But generally (if you’ve been listening to good and bad feedback) that won’t be the case – try your best to enjoy it!

  2. Don’t wait around for the bubble to burst. This is such an exciting time. You should enjoy it completely and not think about the negatives. Congrats!

  3. May 1st is the a step into your future. Enjoy it. Feel proud that it was selected for publication and will son be one peoples e-readers and book shelves. Congrats to you. You could always occupy yourself with another project? 🙂

  4. Congratulations. Sounds like a fascinating, but slightly scary time. Just dropping in from the A to Z April Blogging Challenge to say hello. I see the book is due for release right after the Challenge ends. It will be a good way to pick up some more readers. All the best of luck with both!
