Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Four years ago, Carlene Adams made a deadly mistake. A tragic accident derailed the future she’d hoped for, taking the life of the man she’d planned to spend forever with.
As a self-imposed penance for her solitary sin, Carlene has given up on every dream she ever had. She has committed to spend every remaining moment trying to make up for that one instance when everything changed.
Then she gets a second chance.
When Carlene meets Nick Johnson, the single kiss they share awakens the desires she shoved aside for so long. Suddenly she wants more than what she believe she deserves. Will she ever see him again? And if she does, what will that mean for her?
A thing of fate.
Leaving the life she built on regret, Carlene waits for fate to intervene. But just as she begins to believe in a fresh start, she’s forced to realize a horrible truth—one with the power to send her second chance crashing before it even takes off.
Nick isn’t who she thought he was. She isn’t the girl he believed her to be, either. Their lives were intertwined even before they met, and if Carlene tells him the truth, she’ll risk tearing them apart—for good.
Review:
In Entangled Moments, Lavella packs a lot of tension, suspense, secrets, romance, sex and lies into a few pages. The journey of Carlene’s rags to riches story may have an air of fairytale to it, but it is fascinating.
The story begins with a chance encounter and a dramatic kiss. From that moment on, you don’t see how they can, but you root for Carlene and Nick to get together. It’s the unlikely and frustrating encounters throughout the book that kept me reading. Once they were together, you knew it was only a matter of time before their secrets would tear them apart. It’s like watching the NASCAR race only for the train wreck.
Without giving away to much, I will let you know the ending will not disappoint. It left me with my mouth wide open and I wasn’t expected it at all.
My one issue that added to the fairytale feel of the book (fairytale as in unbelievable) is the setting. The book is set in some small town called Serendipity (ironic name) frequented by celebrities and wealthy people, but the book never goes into where or why. I can’t image a city like that anywhere in the world and it left me annoyed, but not enough to put the book down.
If you enjoy a little mystery with your romance, check this book out. Lavelle does exactly what she needs to do, which is get you hooked enough to make you want to see what happens next.

Author Bio:
Dori Lavelle is a mother, wife, and lover of happy endings and mint chocolate. She thinks love and chocolate make such a perfect pair. Give her a great romance novel and a mug of hot chocolate and she’d be one happy woman. Don’t forget to leave behind a couch with lots of cushions. And maybe light the fireplace?
Very interesting review! It definitely caught my curiosity. 🙂
I recommend this book to everyone!
That’s a really sweet cover! I’m loving your blog, by the way. Did you change it up a bit? Looks fantastic.
Thanks Katie, I thought the blog needed a new color scheme. I am also creating another version of my logo, so stay tuned for more changes.
