Tara & Heather created this blogfest to celebrate some milestone in the publishing process of their upcoming releases, Pop Travel and Maguire’s Corner.
I decided to share one of my favorite thrills:He held my hand tight as he pulled me closer. Our faces were inches away from each other. He hesitated and I panicked. I turned and started to walk away, but he still have a strong grip on my hand. When I turned back to tell him to let go, I didn’t have a chance to get the words out. His lips were on mine, no hesitation this time. My surprise prevented me from kissing him back at first. He started to pull away and I panicked again, but this time from fear he would stop. I kissed him back. I was keenly away of the the way his lips tasted, all smooth and wet and with a hint of peppermint. The power of suggestion had been working over time in my imagination and I laughed. This time he succeeded in pull away. “What’s so funny?” “I thought you would taste like peppermint and you do.” He smiled and kissed me again, letting go of my hand to wrap his arms around my waist. *From my JuNoWriMo Novel.
There is nothing more thrilling than a first kiss. What do you find thrilling?

Addicted to New Adult
Agent Suzie Townsend invites you to join her in a discussion on New Adult from June 24th to July 16th on her blog, Confessions.
I am currently querying a New Adult Romance and writing another. The characters I write never seem to quite fit in full on adult, now they have a spot in the literary world.
Miami Heat wins the 2013 NBA Championship. Not a fan of either team in the game, but Game 6 reminded why basketball can be an exciting game. It was awesome. Game 7 had to end the way it did. Plus, Tim Duncan and 5 rings doesn’t sound right.
It was a movie full weekend.Man of Steel Fast & Furious 6 Gangster Squad World War Z The Impossible
One awesome, one amazing, one great, one inspiring and one failed to meet expectations. Which movie was what?
James Gandolfini died last week at the age of 51. I loved The Sopranos, but I’ve still only seen season 3-6. I was late to the party. People have said that Tony Soprano ruined him for other rolls, but I disagree. I think it was the complexity of Tony Soprano and the way Mr. Gandolfini played him made other roles he played compelling because they were simple. See The Mexican (compassion and a little funny) and True Romance (pure violence). Also, Gandolfini is such a great name.
Check out The Many Faces of James Gandolfini at My Film Views.
What was your favorite James Gandolfini Role?
Post to Ponder
Do you write your chapters to long? Are you stuck in the old days? by Caleb Pirtle III – It’s the James Patterson formula. Each chapter is a miniature book.
Do Romance Novels set Unrealistic Expectations? by Melissa Cutler on Tameri Etherton’s Blog – I think if guys read romance, they’d fair so much better. The instructions are right there, they just need to use them.
Over Thinking Your First Draft by Sarah Foster on The Faux Fountain Pen – If you understand the purpose of the first draft, it should be the most fun step in the process.

Congrats on picking up your award!
I agree, the first kiss is a thrill!
I feel the need to say that I can see you rushed to get this done, Sydney, as there are a couple of errors, but overall, I think you caught the moment well.
Thanks CB. I guess I should have clarified it was an unedited section from my current JuNoWriMo novel, so I wasn’t to concerned about editing, but I will take a look.
What an outstanding site! Love the info and I agree the badge is cool and *every* darn kiss is a thrill.
Thank you. I agree, every kiss is a thrill.
Love that excerpt! Congrats on your award! I’m going to check out some of those links.
Best wishes for the last week of Junowrimo!
What did you think of Man of Steel? I loved Lois Lane, but didn’t like the length of the punchfest at the ending.
Wow! That was quite a thrill. I am smiling and I don’t know why. Good Luck with your last week of JuNoWriMo.
Thanks so much Murees. I needed to hear that today. In insecure writer mode today. Don’t know why? Your comment made me smile.
First kisses are thrilling, and apeppermint flavored one to boot!
I’m guessing Gangster Squad failed to live up to expectations? Thought that movie was terrible for the cast it had.
And I hate to be a traditionalist but I say nothing else he did came close to Tony Soprano. I LOVED the show and can’t recommend the first three seasons enough- I honestly think the latter half pales in comparison to the first.
Hey Bev. Thanks for the comment. Although I have to disagree, I loved Gangster Squad. Man of Steel didn’t meet expectations.
That’s what I hear about the first three seasons. I’m actually thrilled I get a chance to see them for the first time. Hate the reason I finally got around to it, though.
That was a very sad moment indeed. Shocking too. Sigh.
You couldn’t have chosen a better thrill. First kisses. Sigh. Love em!
Oh, I agree. My first kiss with my husband still gives me little chills!
The thrill of the first kiss? And you chose a minty version. Great choice of topic for the blogfest.
Good luck with the rest of JuNoWriMo!
Well I see that JuNo has been a success for you – that was a very nice first kiss. 🙂
That was a very tantalizing first kiss scene. Break a pen on your queries. 🙂
Congrats on your award and thanks for letting us take a peek at your WIP! Also, of your movies, I have no idea how you ranked them…The only one from your list that I’ve seen is Fast 6 & I enjoyed it.
Where you’ve been following the NBA championships, I’ve been hooked on the NHL Finals. I’ve been losing sleep watching the very exciting series! My fingers are crossed that my hometown team wins. 🙂
what a great post! so much info!
first, a very thrilling love scene! mmm, peppermint & playful!
thanks for sharing about suzi’s event, looks good!
sad about gandolfini, hate sudden deaths like that.
James Gandolfini had so many roles, but his character as Tony Soprano will forever etch him as one of the great American actors of our time.
I have to say I did not like his role in 8mm. or the movie for that matter. But I won’t hold that against him.
First kiss. Always good for a THRILL!
Thanks for posting this!
Mr. Gandolfini will be missed.
Thanks for participating.
First kisses are heart stopping! That’s a great thrill.
Love the excerpt! Then to follow it up with James G’s passing, so tragic. Thanks for the shout out to Melissa’s guest post. I always love stopping by your blog, it’s so full of goodness I just smile and smile.
Aw, that’s a great thrill. 🙂 Love your excerpt. So sweet.
