My Weekly Update – Write Club, Workers, Watch Out

WRiTE CLUB

1st rule of WRiTE CLUB, you can talk about WRiTE CLUB, but just this once.  I have been in search of motivation to start writing some short stories and I came across this contest and had to participate.  Plus, Fight Club is one of my favorite movies and Tyler Durden is one of my all time favorite movie characters.  If you want to learn more about WRiTE CLUB and join the competition, click on the badge to the right.  Thanks  to our WRiTE Master DL Hammons for creating the opportunity for the WRiTE of the Century.  First WRiTE  is held on July 30th.  Bring it on.*

*Get it?  I am replacing the word Fight with the word WRiTE.  Pretty clever, huh?

“F–k off with your sofa units and strine green stripe patterns, I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let… lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.”  Tyler Durden

Workers

I wanted to give a special shout out this week to some of the people who are putting in work for me.  Your simple click of a button has been so valuable to me and I want to say thank you.

First, a few of my diligent Tribemates – If you aren’t on Triberr, what are you waiting for?

Watch Out

There are two book that you need to watch out for and pick up this week.

Flight of the Blue by A.E. Howard comes out on July 24th.  I had the honor of interviewing A.E. during JuNoWriMo and I am really looking forward to reading her new book.

How I Make A Living In Writing by Scott Morgan.  I really enjoy Scott’s blog Write-Hook.com and have read an excerpt from his new book and it is good.

  1. I’ll admit, I had never heard of Triberr… is it really useful ? I sort of think that I’ve reached my limit in terms of social-media networking and I’m reluctant to join yet another site… After all, I’m a writer first 😉 But if you say it’s great… Good luck with Write Club!

  2. EM, Triberr is a super easy, super fast way to retweet your favorite bloggers blog posts. Some people are getting a bit leary of it since you can end up looking like a spam bot, but I love it. I’m in three tribes (wish I was in Sydney’s!), and my tweets go out every 45 minutes. Some days I’m a total spam bot, but I feel it’s for the good of my blogging friends. I want the world to know how fabulous they are and it definitely helps spread the word/share the love for everyone.

Sydney, I love the play on words! Fight Club/WRiTE Club. So cute. This post gives me warm fuzzies all over. I might have to borrow this idea of thanking my tribemates and new subscribers, if you don’t mind. I’m looking forward to following all of your fabulous friends on Twitter, too.

    1. EM, Tameri is absolutely right. Triberr takes no time at all and the benefit is quickly measurable. I feel like a spammer as well, but I try to remember that everyone had something to say. Most of my tribe mates are pretty cool.

There are some things that I don’t approve. It is rare, but it happens.

Tameri, Please do, borrow away. I am just blown away by the generosity that people exhibit. It doesn’t take much and can mean more then people realize. I just want to do my part.

  3. Hi Sydney and Thank you for the mention. Write Club sounds interesting. I’ve heard of Triberr, not sure if I’m a member or not, believe me, I have so many accounts and doubles of some, I haven’t a clue as to which groups I belong to anymore :-/

    1. You are quite welcome. I would have also put you in the Watch Out section, but already scheduled before I saw your post that Chris’ Journey was coming out today. I just bought it. Can’t wait to read it. I think WRiTe CLUB will be interesting. I am looking forward to see how it all plays out.

  4. Thanks for the mention Sydney! I appriciate you too and all your support ^_^ The Fight Club/WRiTE Club thing is awesome. Looking forward to seeing what you’re going to do with that. Write on!

    1. Hi Catherine. Just check out the bonfires and see if someone is looking for tribe mates. Once they send you an ivite then you will see more of how it works. Or send invites and start your own tribe. For write club, I am still trying to decide what story to submit. Wish me luck.
