Monthly Update – Is it February Already?

New Logo – I’m in the process of rebranding Sydney Aaliyah Michelle and step one, a new logo. I love it. Thanks so much to Cassy Roop of Pink Ink Designs.

Quote of the Month: “As long as there’s light we got a chance.” -Poe (StarWars VII)

Movie’s Watched:

The Big Short – That whole real estate, financial debaucle, now I understand! And, some people made a lot of money off of it.

The Revenant – Is as brilliantly done as the hype. I loved it.

13 Hours: The Secret Soilders of Benghazi – Makes me want to dust off that military romance I’ve been working on for four years.

Concussion – They tried to balance it out, but it was scary but disconnected to what I know about the NFL.

StarWars: Episode VII Force Awakens – It was good, but not as good as Episode IV, V, VI. Oh, but I’m excited about the series continuing.

Lost & Found Love – I love these stories. My debut novel was a lost and found love story.

My lost and found love story would be about me finding my passion.

I had a good job. It paid well. I got to travel and meet interesting people.

BUT . . .

I wasn’t passionate about it. I didn’t love it. It didn’t inspire me. So I gave it all up and now am living the starving artist, working a part-time job and working 24/7.

I love every minute of it.

February News – It’s Release Day . . . tomorrow!

  1. First goal, get through all these lovely posts!
Second goal, get through a month filled with love posts,
Third goal – celebrate my anniversary – Feb 14th with a trip to the beach!
    After that anything is possible!

  2. There is nothing worse than being unsatisfied in a job: getting up every day dreading where you’re going, painfully awaiting the weekends, only to get that sick feeling on Sunday nights when you know you have to go back to work on Monday. Nothing worse! So glad you found your way to doing what you love. Follow your passion always! It will always lead you on the right path…

  3. The security of a good job is important, but the passion provides the meaning and zing to life. Better to feel free and happy than trapped in a place we don’t like.

  4. Being able to do what we want to do in life makes each day worthwhile, and helps us jump out of bed in the morning with a feeling of happy expectation instead of hitting the alarm clock with a hammer and hiding under the covers. I’m glad you were able to pursue your passion.

    That anthology sounds terrific!

  5. I did THE EXACT SAME THING! Had a great job, super challenging, super rewarding… loved it. Really, I did. But. BUT. One day I woke up. I’d been postponing the writing thing forever, and one day it hit me: all we have is the here and now. The future isn’t guaranteed, it’s not even a promise. So… I quit. And, yes, now I live the starving-artist life, too. (And, yes, I love every minute of it. Except the few involved with opening bills 😉 )

Thanks so much for being a part of the Lost & Found hop—and much, much success with the Valentine’s collection! As a pet lover and dog rescuer, I’m always advocating spending Valentine’s in furry company, so it sounds right up my alley 😉
