“Ladies and gentlemen, the 2013 recipient of CheersFest is none other than Arlee “Lee” Bird.” Hosted again by Mark Koopmans, Morgan Shamy, David Powers King, Stephen Tremp and The Ninja Captain himself.
I virtually meet Lee during the first bloghop I ever participated in, 2012 A-Z Challenge, I did my first guest post on his blog and he is one of the first to leave a comment on most of my blog post. I jump at the chance to celebrate Arlee.
Why did Lee come up with the A-Z Challenge?
Lee has an unusual fear of the alphabet, it started in childhood and he doesn’t like to talk about it, but he has been in intense aversion therapy ever since. The A-Z challenge is part of his therapy.
If someone dreams about being a juggler, what does it mean?
It’s means someone like to have all his balls in the air at the same time. That doesn’t sound right.
Is a post by Mr. Bird worth two in the bush?
More in my opinion, a bush, two stones and bushel of leaves.
Who could play Lee in a documentary? (Living or dead.)
Brian Dennehy could totally play Mr. Bird.
“From A to Z, I am Arlee Bird, but you can call me Lee.”
In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts:
· Bird
· Juggler
· Challenge
· Brown Jacket
· Tossing
For Bonus Points:
· In +/- 40 words, can you come up with a caption for Lee’s Facebook picture?
“See, I’m juggling so fast, it looks like the pins are standing still.”
Take your turn with the challenge and check out the other Arlee Cheerfest 2.0 posts.
Great answers to the question round! I think you hit the nail on the head about the origin of A to Z!
It just makes sense, doesn’t it Julie.
Looks like the pins are standing still – funny!
So the A to Z is therapy? Well, we wouldn’t want to disrupt Lee’s therapy.
Thanks for participating in CheersFest!
I thought I was trying to hard with that one. Glad it made you laugh.
I love your Flash-juggling Birds! Lee does that now, except it is blogs he juggles~
We all need A-Z therapy and now the Bird has us juggling~
I know. And, he keeps them all in the air, no fly aways and definitely, no stuff falling from the sky.
Great caption, I’ll bet he used that line before.
Can’t you hear him saying that? Although, I’ve never heard him speak. I think he sounds like Brian Dennehy as well.
Great stuff. Just goes to show that birds out of the hand is a dangerous proposition when they are flying over one’s head. Now to take that jacket to the cleaners.

Tossing It Out
I’ll have it cleaned for you. I got you into this mess. I owe you. Thanks for being who you are, Lee. You are appreciated.
lol – Juggling birds by training them to fly…too funny!
Thanks MJ. I know the visual cracks me up.
Interesting Flash Fiction-juggling birds. Ha!
Thanks. It was all I could think of.
A fear of the alphabet – hahaha! And I loved your other answers, too, especially the FB caption. Great post and Cheersfest for Lee!
I have experienced this type of therapy. Very effective.
“All his balls in the air at the same time.'” Excellent. 🙂
Thanks PK. haha.
I think you are correct about Lee’s fear of the alphabet. And thus, he challenges his fears of the alphabet starting with Z. Oops, wrong challenge. Very good and I bet he’s juggled a few balls in his time. Maybe the word “tossing” is a bit too much info. No, we wont go into what tossing means in Britain. That must be some fast juggling for sure. Note the look on his face like he lusts for the pins 🙂
Gary aka, “The official anti-A to Z spokesman” as dubbed by the roasted Bird himself. It’s all good and thank you for your very clever take on this tribute to my starstruck fan, Lee.
Gary, you sound like you know our friend Lee pretty well. Thanks for the compliment. I had fun with this one.
No, not the jacket! I love that jacket. Great post.
Something had to happen to the jacket. So sorry. 😞😝
Sydney, totally laughing! Love the caption and your answers… all really great. I hope Lee is enjoying this. I know I’m getting a kick out of it! 🙂
Stopping by from the Cheers Fest. to read your roast post which I am still laughing after reading. And to tell you thanks for stopping by to read my unofficial Cheers To Lee.
I wish I was clever enough to come up with a good caption for that, but I’m failing at it. That’s a great idea though! And a hysterical picture.
Aloha Sydney:)
Just wanted to stop by and say congrats on winning the second prize from Lee following his CheersFest roasting.
Your entry is hilarious – seriously, it takes a lot for me to LOL – but you had me at the flying birds and then the caption, which was awesome 🙂
Well done, you 🙂
How cool. I am so happy Arlee picked me. The price is pretty cool, too.
Congrats Sydney! You did a great job, and I can’t wait to see what Jeremy comes up with for you!
I know. I am looking forward to it. Might need a new blog to go with my shining new blog header he is going to create for me.
